With a little over two weeks to go to Buckinghamshire's biggest cycling event of the year, the Chiltern Cycling Festival, now is the time to get your entry in and secure your place on the Summit 65 startline. On-line entry closes in a matter of days so please visit www.summit65.bike to find the British Cycling entry page link. You can also preview the routes for both the full 65kms and the 30kms rides here: http://my.viewranger.com/user/details/38284 thanks to our event partner ViewRanger With well over 100 entries already confirmed it's looking like this year's event will be the biggest since the inaugural Summit 65 in 2011. The Chiltern Cycling Festival is also going to be huge this year, with loads to keep your family and friends busy whilst you enjoy the best mountain bike routes in the Chilterns. You'll get a warm welcome back to Penn House at the end of your ride, with the first 25 riders being presented with a unique gold medal, whilst everyone will be given a well-earned glass of refreshing Rebellion beer. The winning team entry will also be presented with a handsome trophy.
This Sunday, 28 June, Summit MTB is hosting a preview ride open to all, giving you the chance to sample part of the Summit 65kms route, taking in Herberts Hole, Capps, Ashotts and Hawridge onto Pavis and then Bacombe and Dunsmore before going to our very own MTB circuit at Lotts Wood. The ride meets at 09.15 to be ready to go at 9.30am from the car park next to the open air swimming pool in Chesham Moor postcode HP5 1SE.
The Summit 65 is not our only MTB event this summer as we're also running the inaugural Summit 26 retro mountain bike event for all off-road bikes built in the last century. It also includes the Retro Bash multi discipline event and takes place from Chenies Manor House on Bank Holiday Monday, 31st August. For more details and on-line entry please visit www.summit26.bike
