Ho! Ho! Ho! Sat.15th December

Christmas Go Ride Activity Ho! Ho! Ho!
Saturday 15th December 2012
Christmas Ride - All HHCC/Summit Go Ride members are invited to the Christmas trail ride. As usual this is a two hour ride for ages 8+ lead by qualified British Cycling Coaches. Please meet at the first car park on the left up monument drive by 9.45am to register and be ready to ride for 10am. The ride will finish at 12noon. Postcode if you haven’t been there before is HP4 1LT.
As it is a Christmas trail ride we are encouraging riders to decorate themselves and their bikes with festive additions – but they must not be dangerous to the rider or others. If you want some ideas have a look on Google Images or Youtube. There will be prizes!
Please make sure you bring a drink and snack, helmet and gloves. Can you also please take a few minutes before coming to check the rider’s helmet fits properly and the bike is in good working order. Riders should be using a mountain bike or a hybrid fitted with gears and treaded tyres. Please make sure there is no loose clothing or shoe laces that could be caught on the bike.
Don’t forget it is important that you are a member of HHCC or Summit MTB to attend this ride.

Christmas social
After the ride we are hosting a fun social event at Northchurch Scout Hut*from 12.30pm. Hot chocolate and lots of scrummy cakes will be on offer and activities for all ages of rider – video footage of MTB, lucky dip, wordsearches, drawing, prize presentations, competition winners and more. Please come along even if you have not been able to make the ride – Mums and Dad and brothers and sisters welcome too. There is a small charge of £2.00 payable on the day per rider/child attending.

What to do now – please email Clare Muir to confirm if you are coming to the ride, social or both with name, age and contact number for the day please. This will help us ensure that we have enough coaches to lead the ride and enough cakes to feed you afterwards.
*The Scout Hut is located on the canal just above St Mary’s School, Northchurch. There may be parking spaces opposite the school or park above the canal on the same side as the houses. To access the Hut walk 100m along Southbank Road (unmade, off New Road and immediately above the canal bridge) and the Hut is on the right.
