Next Session: Come and Try Racing: Sat 17th Oct

Saturday 17 October: come racing with Summit

We are hugely excited to announce what promises to be the best day of grass roots racing we have ever held.  As most members will know, Summit have hosted an inter-club MTB race at Lotts Wood for the past two years.  This year, we are moving venues and joining forces with Palmer Park Velo, Hillingdon Slipstreamers and Zappi Arrows at the fantastic Banjo Cycles XC Rampage course at Checkendon, near Woodcote.

The date is Saturday 17 October, which means no Go-Ride coaching session, so we want to see as many Summit jerseys as possible on the start line.  Race times will be confirmed later this month but it will start around 10am and finish by lunchtime.

If your kids have never raced before, this is a great opportunity to experience riding fast in a safe environment rather than being stuck behind someone's wheel.  This is a race course for everyone, no matter what you age or ability. There is a shorter course for younger riders and the track is not overly technical, with no climbs, and a mix of single track and open fields.  Any technical parts have A and B lines (harder but quicker, or easier but slower) to suit different skill levels.

If you are interested you can enter here and entries close on Saturday 10 October.  The age categories are: U6, U8, U10, U12, U14, U16.  To work out which age category your rider should be in, ask how old were they on 1 January this year.  For example, if you were 11 on 1 January this year, then you are U12, even if you turned 12 on 2 January.
